Verdict

Thisthatandtother, the chosen representative of four runners from the stable of Paul Nicholls, has looked to be potentially out of the top drawer over fences and is taken to make it four out of four with Caracciola and Alvino rated the main dangers. The last mentioned (a runner at the track on Boxing Day) has had his training problems but remains unexposed and open to improvement, particularly over fences, and should be suited to this course having jumped right when winning at Market Rasen last time. Yorkshire also ran here yesterday and needs to improve to trouble the selection, who was a useful performer in bumper-company and also over hurdles but looks to be even better over fences, having won in impressive fashion at Bangor, Cheltenham and Sandown in his three outings so far. Mylo appears to be nothing out of the ordinary and a bigger threat is likely to come from Nicky Henderson's Caracciola who made a pleasing debut over fences when lowering the colours of the useful Our Armageddon at Haydock. However, Thisthatandtother looks the real deal over fences and will be tough to beat.
