A competitive contest gets proceedings underway, however the principals look to be Lord Earth, Distant Thunder and Meggies Gamble and we will side with the last named. The mare from the Venetia Williams yard was a disappointing favourite on her debut this season. However she is sure to have been well schooled for this her hurdling debut and receiving weight from her main dangers she is taken to score. Distant Thunder was a fair fourth behind Blue Derby last time out but is sure to be suited by the step up in trip so should be noted in the market. Lord Earth is also worthy of respect . He won well on his debut before appearing to find three miles to far last time out the drop back in distance should be in his favour. Of the remainder Commercial Flyer is a well bred sort from a top yard and is worth noting but we are happy to side with Meggies Gamble.
