In depth

Verdict

This looks a trappy maiden but the leading lights appear to be Waqaarr, Mr Rev and Simpsons Gamble and the vote is given to Waqaarr. The selection was an eyecatcher here last time when he ran on strongly at the finish in a race won by Mogok Ruby. He was returning from a long break that day so he is entitled to improve plenty for that reappearance effort and he gets the nod. Mr Rev was also an eyecatcher here on his debut when he fell out of the stalls before flying home at the finish. He is sure to improve, but he is dropped back a furlong here which may not play to his strengths. Simpsons Gamble does have some fair form but he is relatively exposed and he is another who would be better served by more of a trip. Daniel O'Donnell is from a shrewd yard and is worth a look in the market, but for the winner we will stick with Waqaarr who looks the type that can improve.
