Siena Star has a feasibly good chance on these terms and can get one over on his old rival Border Edge, while Jordan's Light and Port 'N' Starboard are others that are in good heart and their presence will help to set up a highly competitive curtain raiser to Kempton's action. Port 'N' Starboard made steady progress this year and comes here after a pleasing return to the fray at Wolverhampton nine days ago. He is entitled to come on for the outting and will be a leading contender at this level. However, as he's struggled off this sort of mark in the past, he needs to be at his very best this afternoon. Jordan's Light represents a yard that have enjoyed the 'odd' successful tilt in the betting ring and this lightly raced fellow should not be underestimated. He does, however, need to prove his stamina for the trip, so it may be best to gauge the confidence in the markets before getting involved with him today. Border Edge - having won from seven furlong up to a mile and a quarter - is a versatile character that still retains plenty of enthusiasm for racing. He gets on well with James Millman, whose 7lb claim goes some way to reducing his burden of top weight. The eight-year-old finished two lengths in front of the selection when they met over course and distance at the start of this month and has to be respected on that form alone. Nevertheless, Siena Star is 6lb better off today and, as his odds are likely to be far more attractive the gelding can provide a timely booster for Stef Liddiard's return to the training ranks.
