Given this is an Auction Maiden that shouldn't take a great deal of winning it might be worth siding with one of the newcomers and we do so with John Gosden's POINT OUT whose pedigree suggests he has the beating of the more experienced Plutocraft and St Ignatius. As a half brother to the useful all-weather performer Distinctive Image the selection looks bred for success on this surface and with his other relations including a Kentucky Derby runner-up he should have the beating of this moderate bunch. Plutocraft ran an encouraging debut and the yard's youngsters usually come on for their first experience. He was expensive enough to suggest that his connections expect reasonable things in the future and he could make experience count. St Ignatius was solid at best on his first run, which came over course and distance, but this colt has a success filled bloodline so we can expect more this time. Highland Quaich also ran a good debut in a decent enough maiden so could be seen to good effect here but Point Out should be a class above if running to his potential.
