A chance is taken on Miss Wedge, with Emily's Place and Lii Najma also expected to go close. The last named is one of the least exposed in the field and comes here on the back of a fair effort last time. However, this is her first try at a mile and her ability to be effective has to be taken on trust (her dam only ever raced at 6f). Clive Brittain has made a bright start to the campaign though and a market support should not be dismissed lightly. Emily's Place showed promise last year and is better than she showed on her reappearance. She does have a low draw to contend with, so will need to be on her game this afternoon. Titus Lumpus also has a feasible chance after catching the eye in his last couple of starts. He was second in a seller before landing a modest handicap at Lingfield in April. He has more to do in this company but is worth noting for signs of interest from the betting ring. However, Miss Wedge has fewer questions to answer than many and is worth another chance in this grade. It will come as no surprise to see Ian Mongan ride her with more restraint than he did when she was third at Windsor and, with her ability to stay proven, the Terry Mills-trained filly should not be underestimated today.
