In depth

Verdict

Another race in which the market will give most clues but Danclare and Hunter's Valley look the ones to lower the colours of the well-bred Telefonica. Danclare has performed with credit in two maidens at Kempton thus far. The form of her recent second to Unshooda was upheld on Saturday when she finished second in listed class to Ruby Rocket. Hunter's Valley belied very long odds to finish third in a Conditions race last time out. That was a significant improvement on a debut effort and more can be anticipated here. Telefonica is related to a useful juvenile in Dialing Tone but the family line has tended to need further and ideally tend to peak as three and four year olds. James Fanshawe hasn't had too many juveniles this term and High Reserve is respected. The filly is a daughter of Dr Fong and shouldn't have too many problems with the going and if there is support - it should be duly noted. First Dawn and On The Wing were allowed to go off at big odds on debut and would need to show significant improvement to take today's race. While much may be offered by market confidence, we shall stick with form on the board and Danclare is given as our selection for the second division of the fillies' maiden.
