CHEVEYO sets the standard according to the handicapper and he may be able to get the better of the once raced pair Peponi and Perfect Secret. The Irish raider has had eight cracks at opening his account and came within a head of doing so over six furlongs on his penultimate start. He's struggled in handicap company which raises doubts about his mark but this is only a modest race whilst this may only be his second run over this trip but there's no reason why he shouldn't be effective at it. Perfect Secret shaped pleasingly on debut but that was back in May and she has presumably had a problem or two since that run at Goodwood. Normal improvement from her debut could see her take a hand and her yard is in good form so she's well worth considering if the market gives out the right signals. There are fewer concerns regarding Peponi given that his debut came as recently as the end of last month. He's entitled to improve considerably and split two rivals rated in the mid-seventies which gives him leading claims on the figures. Lunaticus needs to step up a gear whilst Peninsular War and Fly By Nelly both have a little to prove these days and we prefer the claims of Cheveyo.
