    Verdict

Deano's Beeno is extremely well in at the weights here and will have plenty of support as a result. He is also ready to run, after having to miss out on his intended engagement in the Tote Eider Chase last week when that fell victim to the weather. However, the suspicion is that this track, sharp and right-handed, will not suit him and so he is tentatively passed over in favour of Stromness. Alan King's gelding has not been seen at his best in the past two outings after taking a three mile hurdle at Cheltenham over the New Year. However, he does seem to come to hand at this time of the year and he is definitely suited by the track, as a course and distance winner here. In the hope that he can get back into the right frame of mind here, he is our tentative selection. October Mist is sent down from the north, but goes into unknown territory here and has a fair bit to find to trouble the to leading protagonists, while Palua comes from a yard in form and if he handles the step up in grade then he might be god enough to claim third place money.
