A lot may depend here on whether Proper Squire truly sees out the three mile trip. His only previous attempt at this distance saw him well beaten at Doncaster, but that as on soft ground and in a much better race than this. He would have every chance if he does stay, as his victory at Fontwell in May was as good as most have to offer, and his return at Market Rasen should have put him spot on for this. Lady Felix and Townie have shown fair form in the past but both have long absences to over come and are probably best watched, while Dutch Dyane is likely to find this a lot harder than when winning a poor race at Sandown at the beginning of the month. The consistent Tathmin is a dour stayer who may find this track a little on the sharp side, but still looks good for a place at least. A bigger danger may be Karolena Bay, who is the TEAMtalk selection. Already twice a winner over hurdles this year, she was coming back from a break when fifth at Haydock last month and should improve for that. Still relatively lightly-raced, she may just be a step ahead of the handicapper.
