Another very competitive handicap where we will take a chance on Maren, with Sattam and Borrego just two of many dangers. Maren and Sattam renew rivalry after contesting a seven furlong event at Sandown last time. Marcus Tregoning's charge came out on top on that occasion, finishing a close second behind Armagnac, with the selection just over two lengths beck in seventh. The three pound pull will come in handy for Maren, who should also improve a great deal as it was his first run of the season and only the third of his career. Borrego was a shock winner of a seven furlong Doncaster handicap last time and should be kept on the right side now he has found his form. Dr Thong can also be given a chance, he looked back to his best when chasing home Flying Adored at Goodwood last time, however Maren has much more scope for improvement than most of these and is can give Fallon another success for trainer Ed Vaughn.
