Trecase is the only C&D winner in the race but it was a very poor handicap he won last month and he's now 6lb higher after finishing runner-up to Striding Edge subsequently. Ermyntrude scored over a mile here a year ago and her last two runs on Polytrack have been over distances too short. She has to be respected but Roman Flame has now gone 23 starts without winning. Royal Etiquette couldn't quite get to the leaders when fancied here last week but looks a threat while the veteran Tous Les Deux can't get to a much lower mark as he searches for his 11th career success. BROUGHTON PLACE is the only one of these with any real scope and though he's only shown moderate form at Lingfield so far a change of venue and slightly lower class may be enough for him to gain his first victory.
