Split Down South has been in excellent form this winter, winning three times with the latest over 7f at Chelmsford. He's just as effective over this trip and a 5lb penalty shouldn't cause too much of a problem. GINGER FOX was having his first start for new connections when scoring here in November and very nearly defied a 4lb rise over an extra furlong at Wolverhampton. He looks certain to go well in a tight handicap and gets the nod. Wiley Post, five times a winner on Turf, was having only his second all-weather start when a very good second at Lingfield and his rider's claim will help but Fighting Temeraire appears to need further. Venture disappointed when favourite at Lingfield after scoring over the course and distance in November but Alfie Solomons has dropped to his lowest-ever mark and showed a bit more dash at Lingfield.
