Verdict

Purchased at last month’s sales after opening his account at Chelmsford for the Gosden yard, PIANISSIMO makes his handicap debut for new connections. Raised only 3lb, he should figure if staying the longer trip. Past Master and Point In Time are others attempting 2m for the first time having won on the Turf recently but Pirate King will need to improve on an earlier effort over today’s distance at Haydock if he’s to figure. Western Duke has failed to figure in three starts over hurdles in the past but drops back down in class on his first outing since August while Casa Comigo’s winning run came to an end off today’s mark over track and trip last month and Rydan looks high enough in the weights.
