SPICE FAIR won over 1m6f at Haydock last time but had earlier gone close over today's trip at Ffos Las. He should make another bold bid and is just preferred to recent Musselburgh winner Katie Gale. The latter has been raised only 2lb for that success but Gavlar is 4lb higher than his win at Goodwood in June though an apprentice's allowance helps his cause today. Castle Combe ran below par behind the selection last time while King Calypso finished ahead of Saborido when second over track and trip earlier.
