Verdict

MAPUTO will probably need to improve again to extend his unbeaten record but looks capable of doing so. He's clearly at home on good ground and has plenty of speed, which is essential on an easy track like this. San Benedeto beat a useful sort at Stratford in May and is still a four-year-old so open to further progress. Midnight Shot won twice by wide margins in May and could be anything as he's bred for jumping. He makes more appeal than Regulation, easily beaten by the selection on worse terms at Huntingdon though obviously improved when easily landing a handicap at Wincanton on Friday. Paddy The Deejay is also held but Swansea Mile ran well in a Listed handicap at Market Rasen on his first start for Dan Skelton.
