In depth

Verdict

Caspar The Cub represents Alan King’s in-form yard and has gone close in both subsequent starts since recording a four-timer at this track at the end of last year. He’s already beaten Pipes Of Peace, West Coast Flyer and COUNT CALABASH but the latter may prove a tougher proposition today. Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge found 2m beyond him last time but was conceding 10lb to Caspar The Cub when runner-up here before that and is taken to turn the tables on these more favourable terms. A 6lb rise for an earlier win here proved beyond Lexington Law last time while Emenem looks up against it in this grade.
