MARKYG looks the one to be on here and gets the nod ahead of History Lesson. The selection ran a blinder in the Chesham at Royal Ascot, finishing third there before going well for a long way behind subsequent Group 3 horse The Cheka. The step up to a mile might help bring about further improvement after a break and we'll side with him. Charlie Smirke ran well enough at both Lingfield and Kempton and is another who should come on for the step up to a mile but has a fair bit to find with the selection on what we have seen so far. History Lesson showed plenty more after one run and tries the Polytrack for the first time. He has an inside draw and is another who is likely to get better over this longer distance. The same applies to King's La Mont, who should get much further in time and comes from the in-form yard of Amanda Perrett. Lady Drac went well in a warm enough race on debut and a market check is advised, but we prefer the claims of Markyg.
