An open contest where OCEAN LEGEND might be good enough to win, with Singleb and Chief Red Cloud among numerous potential dangers. Julia Fielden has her string in decent form and Ocean Legend has been given a chance by the handicapper now, slipping down to a mark of 69, which is below his only winning mark. Although that win came on the Fibresand, he acts well on the Polytrack and he can finally take this opportunity. Singleb enjoyed a purple patch in the winter, winning over seven, eight and nine furlongs, and he has now slipped back to just 1lb above his best win. He should be thereabouts. Chief Red Cloud is 6lbs higher than when winning over course and distance, but given that it was only his first start there is every chance he could improve enough to defy the rise, or at least remain ultra competitive. Copper King may also have a say from just 3lbs higher than when scoring at Lingfield, while My Mate Mal is a consistent sort who has made the frame twice on artificial surfaces and has a chance of doing the same from tonight's mark. Confide In Me perhaps has a little too much weight to carry and Ocean Legend looks worth chancing in a tricky race.
