Ellmau looks like he may have an easy opportunity for success here with Pegasus Again and Campanologist both worth noting. The selection has not run for some time but is now down in grade since competing at Doncaster in the Leger sales race. He scored on his debut at Southwell so has proved he can handle an all weather surface and now back in grade he has to be respected. Pegasus Again was not totally discredited in Group 3 company at Sandown last time out behind Raven¿s Pass. Again this is a drop in grade and as a result he has to be given a chance so any market moves should be noted. Campanologist is the winner of two race to date and was thought good enough to run in the Royal Lodge at Royal Ascot. He is another that can run well now dropped in grade. A tricky race to call with so many horses in the race that have been highly tried but for the winner we return to Ellmau.
Campanologist (USA) Foaled 5 May. A winner at 11-4 at Haydock over 1m (good to firm) earlier this month, beating Eileen's Violet by 1/2l. Has also won at Sandown this season. Stable come into this in superb form and he deserves another crack at a race of this nature.
Cordell (IRE) Foaled 9 February. A winner at 12-1 at Kempton over 1m last month, beating Greylami by 1/2l, his first success in six starts. He is clearly in good heart at present but may have to settle for a minor role in this company.
Ellmau Foaled 2 March. Finished 12l behind Rio de La Plata when fifth of 7 at 10-1 on his latest outing in the Group 2 Veuve Clicquot Vintage Stakes at Goodwood over 7f (good) last month. A winner at 6f on fibresand. Placed in a Group 2 in July, every chanc.
Mr Plod Beaten about 16l behind Wasan at 50-1 on his racecourse debut here over 7f in November. Can only really improve on that effort today, but he remains impossible to put forward with any confidence.
Pegasus Again (USA) Foaled 11 April. Beaten a neck by Maze when second of 12 at 14-1 on his racecourse debut in a listed race at Ascot over 7f (good) in June. Having his first run on an all-weather surface tonight and he'll be strongly fancied to play a leading role in.
Randama Bay (IRE) Foaled 24 April. Beaten a head by King Hafhafah when second of 10 at 66-1 on his latest outing at Lingfield over 7f last month, his first placing in three starts. He appears to be improving with race experience and is worthy of a place on any short-l.
Siberian Tiger (IRE) Foaled 24 March. Half-brother to 5f and 6f winner Fabuleux Millie. Dam a 5f to 6f winner. Beaten 3 3/4l behind Jack Dawkins at 6-1fav on his latest outing at Doncaster over 1m (good to firm) last month. Has won at Salisbury and Newmarket (July) this.
Whitcombe Minister (USA) Foaled 30 March. Half-brother to 6f winner Great Northern. Finished 2 3/4l behind Fireside when fourth of 14 at 66-1 on his racecourse debut at Newmarket (Rowley) over 7f (good) in October. Having his first run on an all-weather surface today. Might.
