Pearl Spectre took advantage of a slide down the weights to win at Chelmsford last week but carries 6lb extra while Wilson finally won a handicap when successful at Lingfield and is 4lb higher. Storm Melody won a lower grade contest at Lingfield last month but a chance is taken on IN THE RED. The latter struggled having to race wide in a higher grade contest last time but found only Tamerlane, due to run in the previous race, too good over track and trip before that and Martin Smith’s charge gets the vote on that form. Mr Gent has placed off a higher mark here in the past and may prove best of the rest.
