      Verdict

      The Great Husk sets the standard in this maiden having made the frame in all seven all-weather starts but the worry is that he looks exposed in the company and while Jan Maylan should be capable of better than she's shown we opt for BRAVE TALK. Having shaped well when third of eight on debut at Lingfield the pick should be able to step up on that after he hung left before keeping on. This extra furlong should suit and he should be straighter for the experience. The Great Husk is now zero from 10 but has looked like a winner in waiting several times since tried on the all-weather sphere. His form when only finding Keenes Royale too good in December reads really well now and he should run his race again. Jan Maylan takes the eye on breeding but seemed to take a step backwards after following a promising run on debut with a poor outing at Wolverhampton last time. It may have been the slower surface didn't suit and it's too early to rule her out. Fair Nella is closely matched with The Great Husk and is considered after an improved run last time but Brave Talk has plenty of scope for improvement after a good first try and he gets the call.
