      Verdict

      LAIKA (NAP) made her belated racecourse debut in a bumper in October and ran well for third on her first start on the Flat at Wolverhampton last week. That run came over a mile and with middle-distances looking sure to suit, Brian Ellison's mare gets the vote. Silver Mountain was not beaten far over 1m5f in a bumper on the Polytrack at Lingfield last month and could figure on that evidence but Lesson In Life is no certainty to appreciate today's longer trip if breeding is anything to go by.
