      Verdict

Free Silver gets the call over Stagnite, with Fun Time and Fantasy Defender a couple more with claims in an open event. In truth nothing stands out here, but Free Silver has been going the right way lately, being placed for the first time in her career under today's pilot here just four days ago. That was over a mile, and she gave the distinct impression that the drop back to seven furlongs would be to her advantage. Stagnite has taken on better company in the past, but does have to give weight to all as well as returning from a break, while Fun Time has failed to progress since making a winning debut on the Lingfield Polytrack last November. Fantasy Defender won a Musselburgh handicap last year, and was successful this summer at Lingfield. That was over a mile though, and this seven furlongs looks plenty short enough, so all in all, we would rather take a chance that Free Silver will find the necessary improvement to come good.
