Benfleet Boy is the pick over Keidas and a whole host of interesting sorts including Malyana, Palmiro and Grey Rover to name but a few. This looks a decent maiden on the Polytrack and one from which plenty of future winners should emerge, but today it should pay to side with Benfleet Boy on the back of a promising effort at Newmarket just under three weeks ago. Brian Meehan's charge quickened up well on the heels of the leaders to finish fourth of 12 behind Wait Watcher, and just two places behind better-fancied stablemate Diysem. With normal improvement he should be bang in at the finish here under Steve Drowne. Keidas learnt a lot from her debut behind Wid at Newmarket to be just touched off at Nottingham next time, shaping as though this extra furlong will come in very handy. She can prove troublesome, while Michael Jarvis has his team in good order at present, and so Malyana is worth a mention. She made the running until the final furlong at Newmarket in the race won by Passage Of Time and was not too far behind at the end. She will be straighter now and similar tactics up the far rail may help her go close. Palmiro finished stone last on his Lingfield bow and owners the Cheveley Park Stud will want to see a lot more this time, while Grey Rover sports The Queen's colours and will have been well readied by Richard Hannon who also saddles the more experienced Benchmark. Sherjawy and Laddies Poker hail from top stables, while Spanish Conquest has a shrewd master who will plot a handicap career next term. All in all, on this occasion we prefer to side with Benfleet Boy.
