Verdict

This looks very open, with Le Chiffre selected to get the better of Anthill and Inquisitress. John Harris' gelding won last time out at Wolverhampton, and has to give away weight to all but Popmusic, but can still come out on top in what is pretty moderate company. Inquisitress is another course and distance winner, and like Le Chiffre isn't expected to go blazing away. Anthill has yet to visit the winner's enclosure after 11 attempts, but was just beaten here last month albeit over 7 furlongs. Ian Wood's other entrant, Mohawk Star's an interesting runner. He's making his first appearance on the flat in more than 600 days. He's shown little previously when tried in this sort of contest, more used to National Hunt racing, although 4 years ago when based in Ireland did win a similar race, albeit on yielding ground. Market support here should be noted, but we'll side with Le Chiffre.
