Verdict
Spirit Of Coniston is capable of carrying of continuing his run of good form in this company and is selected in preference to Lady Bahia, After The Show and Forest Dane. The last named is a consistent and comes here in great heart. He showed a good attitude when winning here in May and has solid claims if he takes the drop to the minimum trip in his stride. After The Show is better than he consented to display last time and also rates a threat. He does need to sharpen his act from the starting stalls, though, and an improved effort is required this afternoon. Lady Bahia wasn't showing signs of stopping when winning last time out and has to be given a solid mention. She has more to do under a 6lb penalty but a bold attempt cannot be ruled out. However, the vote goes to Spirit Of Coniston, who is another at the top of his game. He has really found his racing shoes of late and has been found a good opportunity to brush aside his latest rise in the weights.
