A fairly competitive handicap to close proceedings and we will side with Desert Reign to gain the advantage over Doctored, Cartronageeraghlad and Iffy. Desert Reign put up his best effort to date when beating Quarrymount a neck over nine furlongs at Epsom last month. The Alan Jarvis-trained gelding should have gained in confidence from that and with the further furlong also likely to suit better still, we will take him to follow up. Doctored has been placed superbly by David Evans to land four on the bounce before just being touched off into third at Nottingham last time. He loves trip and ground and there is no reason why he can't show more consistency and be involved at the finish once more. Cartronageeraghlad is another who holds his form well on all types of going at around this trip, but who has been in the grip of the handicapper of late. Conditions here are not too much better, but he is tough and genuine and a big run is anticipated, though for the winner we are happy that Desert Reign can rule the roost.
