Verdict

George Baker got to know FOREST DANE last time and can go two places better. Hart Of Gold has a solid chance as does Shakespeare's Son who has proved himself to be a consistent performer. Forest Dane has a fine record at this track and is a cut above this opposition when operating at the top of his game. He hasn't been at that level for a while but is nicely handicapped as a result and the green shoots of revival were sown at Lingfield. He is drawn low but is usually held-up so that may not inconvenience him greatly and he has the right man in the plate. Hart Of Gold faced a stiff task in a claimer last time but should be more competitive here and looks sure to be involved from his high draw but may find at least one better handicapped. That's also the problem that faces Shakespeare's Son who gets no respite due to his consistency. He hasn't really shone in two previous visits here but they were some time ago and he can make his presence felt if running up to his best. However, the well handicapped Forest Dane is readily preferred.
