      Verdict

      THE LAST LION has leading claims on these terms. He’s clear at the weights having won a Listed contest at Sandown before placing in Group races, including the Gimcrack at York last time. Smokey Lane was a couple of lengths behind the selection at Sandown but has won a maiden at Windsor subsequently while something went amiss with Unabated in the Gimcrack but he went close at Newmarket before that. The remainder have even more to find though Koropick made a winning start at Thirsk last month and an entry in the Middle Park suggests big things are expected of him.
