held up in touch, tracked winner halfway, ridden 3f out, weaken 2f out
made all, quicken over 2f out, clear over 1f out, ran on well, pushed out
held up towards rear, headway 2f out, chased leaders over 1f out, lost 3rd close home
held up mid-division, ridden over 3f out, soon beaten
tracked winner, ridden and lost touch 3f out, soon well behind, tailed off
held up rear, headway and not much room 2f out, stayed on final furlong to take 3rd close home
held up, ridden over 2f out, headway to chase winner well over 1f out, kept on, not pace to challenge
raced wide behind, reminder 7f out, under pressure 3f out, kept on same pace, never nearer
Not a bad prize but this shouldn't really take anything special to win it and Sir Mark Prescott can provide the answer with Regal Setting, with Blaze Of Colour, Ocean Avenue and Desert Island Disc others to note. Regal Setting gets in with a featherweight here and can take full advantage. Without a run for almost a year, his two previous outings were on the fibresand at Southwell, when he was second to Rock Lobster, and then at Wolverhampton, when seeing off Cellarmaster. Admittedly the ground will be a fair bit different here, but the team do well when stepping their runners up in trip by a significant amount, and this one looks no exception. Blaze Of Colour runs from the same mark, but has a bit to do. A winner of a Class E handicap at Brighton in July, he was anchored by a 6lb penalty there again next time, and although trip and ground suit he looks vulnerable again under this weight. The same can be said of course and distance winner Ocean Avenue, who has been well beaten in two starts since May and is still 6lb higher than than win, while Desert Island Disc is just 2lb higher than when he won over c and d in July, has held his form well enough in defeat since, and he can give the selection most to do. Our idea of the winner though is Regal Setting.
