This could finally provide Group Captain with the opportunity to get off the mark; possibly with King's Account and William Tell giving him the most to think about. That said, there could be more top come from Water Pistol as he steps up in trip and he is one to keep a close eye on in the betting. He does have a little to find with the selection on Folkestone form but, as he almost certainly needed the experience of his debut, an improved display cannot be ruled out. William Tell saw out the mile well enough on his latest start to be given a mention for each way players. That was a much better effort than that of his first run and he has the stamp of a nursery winner waiting to happen. King's Account has put in two very respectable efforts so far and will no doubt, as a Mark Johnston horse stepping up in distance, capture the attention of many. This will help to make the price a fair one for Group Captain, who despite having been expensive to follow so far, has not really done that much wrong in his races. The fact that he is kept at this level rather than give weight away in a handicap suggests that his connections are keen to get a win into him, so with plenty his favour, we fancy this is the day for Group Captain to stamp his authority on proceedings.
