Verdict

SUBMARINER, The Kyllachy Kid and Mr Hichens are the shortlisted trio in this decent contest, with impressive winner Submariner taken to follow up under a penalty. Winner of two of his three starts to date, Submariner's only defeat came on the tight Roodeye, and although this track is also quite sharp, the manner of his Beverley success last time suggests he is well treated and can follow up off a 6lb higher mark. The Kyllachy Kid looks the biggest threat on the evidence of a sound run last time, finishing just ahead of a subsequent winner. He is consistent and also looks well treated. Mr Hichens won well last time, but has climbed the handicap as a consequence, and may find his principal opponents too good at the weights.
