Kalankari could be the value here against the likes of Tempsford Flyer and Herring, with Royal Reservation worth a mention at least. Kalankari always seemed to find one too good last year, and indeed had to settle for the runner's up berth again when edged out by Tamagin at Lingfield last month. However he did at least manage to win his maiden at the Surrey track the time before last, and with a good draw in stall nine, could just upset the likely favourite Tempsford Flyer. The latter will be expected to improve again after making all on his belated return at Wolverhampton, but at the odds is worth taking on as there is the bounce factor to take into account on this, his handicap debut. Herring opened his account in a blanket finish at Lingfield last month and is another that now tries handicapping for the first time. He could improve but is perhaps best watched, while of the rest, Royal Reservations dropped in grade after meeting better company at Newmarket last time. Secret Liaison should be noted in the market, but for the winner we return to Kalankari.
