Jessica Wigmo is preferred over Sion Hill and Double Valentine in this competitive handicap. Tony Carroll's 5-year-old mare won an apprentice handicap last time when she narrowly prevailed over Imperium. She escapes a penalty for that win and she looks the obvious choice. Her chief rival could be Sion Hill who wasn't beaten far by Sovereignty at Wolverhampton last time. A reproduction of that effort would certainly see him competitive today. Double Valentine finished third behind Avoca Dancer here last time but this step-up in trip is not sure to play to her strengths and she may have to settle for a minor role. Balerno has the best of the draw and he can go well at a price, but Jessica Wigmo arrives here in good form and she can win again.
