Verdict

Champagne Shadow, Adage and Mister Completely look the main protagonists in this staying handicap and the vote is given to Champagne Shadow. The selection won well last time out when beating Strobe and although he has a penalty for that win, he still looks ahead of the handicapper and he is taken to win again. Adage rates the main danger as he also won well last time out when beating Diktatorship but he has yet to score over a trip this far and at the likely odds he is taken on. Mister Completely beat Into Action well last time out, he goes well over course and distance but this looks tougher and he could be vulnerable under his penalty. El Alamein is from a shrewd yard and should be watched in the market but the suspicion is he may need the run after a 333-day break. Of the remainder, Squiffy is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but Champagne Shadow is our idea of the winner.
