Verdict

Kerasoun (assuming he takes his chance) is the interesting one here and he gets the nod over Hawkwell and Batties Den. The last named has endured training problems, so was not given too a hard time when his chance had gone on his reappearance at Uttoxeter 22 days ago. It is safe to say he has emerged unscathed and an improved effort may be forthcoming. He did show ability in bumpers a couple of seasons ago, so is no forlorn hope at this level. Hawkwell got off the mark in a pleasing manner when he won at Hexham in May - bouncing off the fast ground to score as he liked. However, that was a very weak race and he looks vulnerable on these terms. Therefore, it can pay to give Kerasoun a chance to prove himself. The Milton Harris-trained gelding showed a fair aptitude for racing during a short career in France - coping with a variety of going descriptions. being by Derby and Arc winner Sinndar, Kerasoun is a nicely bred type for Harris to go to war with and, on the understanding that he can jump, he can pay his way at this level before too long.
