In depth

Verdict

Simply Sondheim’s winning streak came to an end in a valuable handicap at Newmarket in October though he’ll be winning again this year. But CHANTICO opened his account with a victory in novice company at Lingfield last month and with more to come now handicapping, Roger Varian’s charge can go in again. Bizarre Law returns to action with a shout and is preferred to Udaberri but Jenson Benson is upped in class and Candy Shack makes her handicap and all-weather debut having gone close at Goodwood last summer.
