Fairy Skin Maker had little chance behind Alam (runs in 3:05pm) at Carlisle last time and is worth another chance in a race where Cosmic Case and Thoutmosis are rated the main dangers. The selection held on well when scoring at Sedgefield prior to his Carlisle defeat and off the same mark as on the latter occasion may be worth a bet in this lesser race. Cosmic Case is capable of taking a hand off her current mark but would ideally prefer a faster surface so a bigger threat may come from Thoutmosis. Len Lungo's gelding is less exposed than some of his rivals and the French import may ultimately do better this term than last with another year on his back. However, the son of Woodman is far from certain to go on the ground and he is probably best watched today. The seven-year-old Welsh Dream has obviously had his problems of late and is difficult to recommend with any confidence, while Shazal gave little sign of encouragement on her recent reappearance. Not the best of races then to end the day's proceedings but Fairy Skin Maker has an obvious chance and gets the vote.
