Real Shady can take the Beginners Chase at the expense of Brown Teddy and Zoffany. Mick Easterby's charge has always been held in high regard at the Sherriff Hutton camp and this is his first foray over chase fences in public. Rated 106 over hurdles, he is a speedy customer who could prove too strong for his rivals. Brown Teddy makes a belated appearance over fences having reportedly schooled over them at least a year previously. The horse seems to have improved immeasurably for professional handling and should not be inconvenienced were to be any additional overnight rain. Zoffany has the benefit of experience and connections were not messing about when taking on the likes of Thisthatantother and Giocomo last year. He jumps well enough and in time connections may look at sending him over further. Moscow Fields hails from an in-form yard and is watched in the market. The remainder look to have it all to do on previous racecourse evidence. Real Shady is our selection in a decent race.
