Verdict

Glenogue can come out on top in a poor contest, with Ornella Speed, Bramble Princess and Uneven Line likely to be in the shake-up as well. Glenogue was placed four times over hurdles in all and was fourth in the Mares' Final at Newbury in March 2004, but has not had much racing since. In fact, Kim Bailey's mare only had two outings over fences last year, the last of which was at Folkestone in November when she was a three-length second to Sunny South East. She has obviously been difficult to keep sound, but can make up for lost time here in a race that will take little winning. Ornella Speed had Uneven Line 10-lengths behind when successful at Hexham in November and should maintain the form over that rival at least even on the revised terms. She has since finished second in handicap company at Sedgefield and will appreciate the return this level. Former pointer Bramble Princess makes her debut over fences and may well make the running. Her stable is coming back to form so a fair run is anticipated, but Glenogue is out to make up for lost time and is the pick of the bunch.
