Monochromix, sure to be popular for Lucinda Russell, is nevertheless far less experienced that some battle-hardened handicappers in opposition and still remains a maiden despite performing consistently well. He may not offer too much in the way of value and SHOESHINE BOY is a viable alternative. He is a guaranteed stayer over this testing trip, arrives in good heart after a runner-up effort on reappearance and has been left on an unchanged mark for that run. He should be in the shake-up. Butler‘s Brief is not the most consistent but is well respected if on a going day, whilst Artic Mann impressed last month when runner-up here on a first start since a mammoth 678-day absence. He is taken seriously along with the reappearing Pavlik, who appeals as a likely improver for Sandy Thomson.
