Verdict

The front-running Darkest Day has completed a double over longer trips here and shouldn't be inconvenienced by dropping down. He takes a step-up in grade but is only a pound higher than his last victory. Donald McCain puts a 7lb claimer up on dual Bangor winner Hidalgo De L'isle and Brian Hughes, who has ridden him to both victories, is on board Autumn Return, who he rode to success at Perth in April. The four-year-old Bois Guillbert takes on older horses for the first time after a break while Faithfulflyer could find this on the short side unless the ground turns heavy. SCOTS POET raced in better company after landing a Musselburgh handicap in February and Ewan Whillans should have him ready after a break.
