Verdict

Isaacstown Lad started favourite over a longer trip at Carlisle last month. That was his first start since November so he may have needed the run. Spoils Of War has been knocking on the door while Zermatt showed his first sign of ability when third at Wetherby in March. Mr Hopeful makes his handicap debut and has scope but Lord Usher is starting to look exposed and is tried in blinkers today. DUTCH CANYON ran a little better than the final result suggests at Perth last month. His stamina will have to be taken on trust but he could go well if he stays and is preferred to Wyfield Rose and Pegasus Walk.
