It's intriguing that DOC ROW started as the 11/8 favourite on his recent return to action and as he ran well for a long way, we will side with him ahead of Royal Mackintosh and Andy Anshan. The selection had been off the track for over a year and a half prior to running in late August, where he was a respectable third to Shoudawoudacouda at Cartmel. He has been placed in two of his three starts over fences and can reward connections' patience with a win today. Top-weight Manbow is a course and distance winner but he has a bit to prove after being pulled up when last seen, so a bigger danger may be the hat-trick chasing Royal Mackintosh. Both of his wins have come at Carlisle so this will be a different test but this strong stayer is not one to take lightly. More Likely is a course and distance winner who has been seen over hurdles recently, Even Flo is out of form but is a player on his old form, whilst both of Polar Gale's wins have come over shorter at Sedgefield. Andy Anshan is interesting for Howard Johnson; this decent pointer has been running in Hunter Chases so far but steps up in trip here and he looks capable of improving on what we saw earlier in the year. A competitive contest, but Doc Row can lead them home.
