In depth

Verdict

LANEGUY fell at the last when still in contention on his penultimate start and was only caught in the final strides at Bangor last time. Today's contest looks slightly less competitive and he can deservedly get his head in front this time. Coach Lane scored at Warwick in November, but failed to figure in tougher company than this back at the same track on his latest start. Andrew Thornton deserts him here to continue his partnership with The Laodicean, who finished third at Towcester recently, while better is expected from Betty Browneyes as it was testing ground when she was pulled-up at Hereford earlier this month.
