Verdict

Those to have raced have only shown modest form so a chance is taken on one of the newcomers; SUDDEN BEAT gets the verdict ahead of Ann's Choice. Alan King has won the three renewals of this race to date and so Sudden Beat is an obvious place to start. She is a half-sister to several smart flat stayers and any market support would have to look ominous for her rivals. Sun Up shaped with promise behind Deejan at Ludlow on debut; considering she was 33/1 on that occasion she should go well. Real Treasure comes from a very ordinary family, Mont Emeraude is related to several winners over in France, whilst Fleet Footed is a half-sister to Lough Derg and also to some bumper winners so she looks an interesting newcomer. Ann's Choice is a rare venture into the National Hunt game for a new flat trainer and she cannot be dismissed, along with Good Faloue who shaped with promise in three starts last season, however this can be another winner for Alan King with Sudden Beat.
