Verdict
The improving STAR LORD is worth chancing in a race of this nature. Starburst Diamond is an obvious threat and placing a saver on him may be a sensible option, while Going Wrong and Hello Moscow are others worth bearing in mind. Hello Moscow won a hatful of Irish points (as well as putting in a fair show in a bumper at Kilbeggan) before making his debut for his current yard earlier this month. The mount of Wilson Renwick has plenty of experience to draw from and cannot confidently be dismissed. Going Wrong is another that also catches the imagination as a long-term prospect, so he shouldn't be underestimated. The Ferdy Murphy-trained gelding floundered in the bottomless ground at Aintree when he was last seen out, so wouldn't really want any further deterioration in the racing surface. However, he is a big strapping individual and is likely to come into his own as chaser, given time. Stardust Diamond was a costly failure when he was robbed on the line at Uttoxeter last month; though he did very little wrong considering he had to race under a penalty for his Bangor success. The six-year-old has proven stamina and, as he is also effective on heavy ground, Alan King's charge has obvious claims again today. However, quite whether he will appeal at cramped odds is debatable, so it's Star Lord that gets the nod for a punt today. The step up in distance can bring about further improvement from the son of Lord Americo and, as Tom George's runner knocking on the door of late; this fellow can provide his yard with a timely change of fortune.
