Charmaine Wood looks impossible to oppose and we take her to see off Pride of Mine and Ellerslie Ali. Alan King's mare chased home the very well regarded Big Eared Fran at Sandown in November and any reproduction of that form should suffice here. Pride Of Mine has had two racecourse experiences thus far. She would need to pick up on the evidence of that most recent outing at Hereford. Ellerslie Ali ran in a fair bumper by Towcester's standards in May. There was plenty of money around on that occasion so there could be more to come. Caretta Caretta was disappointing at Folkestone on debut and is hard to fancy here. Jane Doe finished tenth at Wetherby but could be worth a look for the each-way backers as that bumper was run at a blistering pace and she was far from disgraced on balance. Gemgaballou has preference entries elsewhere. It's difficult to get away from Charmaine Wood and we shall seek not to.
