Fortune Island, Almah and Brooklyn Brownie are the three for the shortlist here and the vote is given to Fortune Island. The selection has proved himself to be a useful individual on the flat this season and he has also got a fair strike-rate in this sphere. He has ground conditions to suit and as he is fit after his stint on the level he should take plenty of beating. Almah ran with great credit when last seen out at Wincanton when she finished second behind Penneyrose Bay. She was well clear of the rest of the field that day so this mare has to be worthy of serious consideration. Brooklyn Brownie ran well when returning from a break last time and as he is sure to strip fitter for the run he has to be considered. Sunday City won well last time and is another to consider but for the winner we are happy to return to Fortune Island.
